Eid ul Adha Fair at Scarborough

18 May, 2025. Eid ul Adha is one of the two biggest religious festivals in the Muslim world. This particular festival is a celebration of our sacrifice to our Creator. The day is usually spent with prayers, hosting family gatherings and appreciating our blessings. Special fairs and other events take place all across the country before the big day, catering to the products specifically in demand during this time. Ecopal took the opportunity once again to participate in another Eid fair, to bring the culture of Bangladesh to the Canadian market.

As before, Ecopal displayed various Eco-friendly products for home décor and personal items. Most items were made of jute, a plant-based material that is mostly harvested in Bangladesh and India. Jute is an efficient and sustainable source of renewable material that generally grows without the use of fertilizers and pesticides. The most popular jute items at this fair were rugs, women’s bags of various designs, table décor and various other home décor products. Other unique items included palm-leaf dinnerware and bio-degradable trash bags.

We received a great deal of interest from the local shoppers, including a very curious Ms. Doly Begum, MPP, Scarborough South-west, who was particularly keen about our palm-leaf dinnerware.
